Annual Meeting at K8AZ

The Annual NCC meeting will be held at the QTH of K8AZ on January 14, 2017.  The meeting will be held in conjunction with Tom’s 29th annual K8AZ Open House.   The NCC meeting will commence around 8 PM after multiple boxes of pizza have been devoured by the attendees.  See the NCC reflector for further details.

 
Ohio QSO Party August 27

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 27, 2016, the date of the next Ohio QSO Party.  The contest ruins from noon to midnight local time (1600Z Saturday until 0400Z Sunday).  A large percentage of North Coast Contesters live in Ohio and many of these have been OQP regulars for years, including KW8N, W8CAR, K8MR, W1NN, and K8NZ.  In 2015, 334 logs were submitted containing over 45,000 contacts.  3,811 calls, including 562 from Ohio made contacts in the contest. Summer Meeting at K3LR

Tim, K3LR, president of NCC, has announced that NCC will hold another summer picnic-style meeting for the membership on Friday, July 29, beginning at 6PM.  Those of you who have attended previous picnics at Tim’s know that these meetings are a lot of fun and a great opportunity to see one of the world’s top ham radio stations.  Additional details will be available on the club’s email reflector.  Please RSVP to Tim by email so he will know how many to expect.  See you at the K3LR Summer Meeting!

 

NCC to Sponsor Contest Dinner at Dayton 2016

The Dayton Hamvention for 2016 will be held May 20-22 at the Hara Arena in Dayton. If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to make your hotel and contest dinner reservations.

Once again, North Coast Contesters will sponsor the Contest Dinner and are proud to announce that Contest Hall of Fame member John Crovelli, W2GD/P40W will be the keynote speaker for the 24th annual Dayton Contest Dinner event on May 21, 2016.

The Contest dinner will be held on Saturday night, May 21, 2016 at 6:30pm. Cash bar opens at 5:30pm. Located at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Official Contest Hotel) at 5th and Jefferson Streets (Next to the Downtown Convention Center) Dayton, Ohio in the Presidential Ballroom.

NCC Meeting January 16, 2016

Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 16, 2016 when the next NCC meeting will be held.  Details will be announced on the club email reflector.  In the past the meetings have usually been held in the evening but with this meeting the time has been moved up to 3 PM in the afternoon.  Stay tuned for details.

NCC Summer Picnic at K3LR

NCC members are invited to attend another summer picnic at the QTH of our president, Tim Duffy, K3LR.  Those who have attended previous picnics at Tim’s know that these events are great fun with good companionship, good food and most likely a station tour.  This one will be held in Tim’s new barn!  The picnic starts at 6 PM on Friday, July 31.  Mwembers need to RSVP direct to Tim via email.

Ohio QSO Party Coming Up

August 22 is the date for the 2015 running of the OHQP. Quite a few NCC members are regular participants in this annual event held on the fourth Saturday of August, so be sure to mark your calendars and get on the air for this fun event. Beginning this year, the serial number has been replaced with a signal report, which will make life easier for mobiles. See www.ohqp.org for details.
